Full Name: "VOX Schallplatten- und Sprechmaschinen Aktien-Gesellschaft", also "VOX Schallplatten- und Sprechmaschinen A.G." (= "VOX Records And Talking Machines Joint Stock Company"); (located in Berlin, or more precisely mentioned on some publications, in Berlin-Tiergarten). German producer and distributor of high-quality-shellac records, designer and manufacturer of talking machines, radios, radio-talking-machine-hybrids, and related accessories. Most of the Vox-shellacs were pressed by Feinbau Maschinen Akt. Ges. Abtlg. Schallplatten although that manufacturer was never credited. Owner of record labels Vox (3) (10" and 12" shellacs) [initially 80 rpm, later also 78 rpm], Electro-Vox (3) (since 1926), and Teddy (6" shellacs for children's gramophones) (approx. 1924 - 1926) [78 rpm]. Owner of recording studios and an orchestra, and also copyright holder of recordings. Active from 1921 (under the name "Tigesti" active as early as 1920) to 1929, in Europe, the U.S. ("VOX Corporation of America") and in Asia. Declared bankrupt in 1929. Part of a company called "Hauptgesellschaft für Industrien", est 1921. Founders: Otto Klung, August Strauch and Curt Stille.
