LaMarr Prod. Co.

The Lamarr Production Company was founded in 1970 by Walter Gardner and his brother Burgess Gardner, as an outgrowth of Walter's "One Stop" operation. The company released records on three labels: Lamarr, Down To Earth (2), and More Soul Records. Notable artists that recorded for the label included The Esquires, The Star-Tells (AKA The Chymes (2)), General Crook, and Burgess' band The Soul Crusaders Orchestra. Burgess did most of the producing and arranging for the company, and The Soul Crusaders Orchestra served as the house band.
