RTL Samstag Nacht

German comedy TV show, running from 1993 to 1998 on the station RTL. Modelled after the US American format "Saturday Night Live", the programme included comedy bits and musical performances by the regular cast members as well as guest performers. The cast included Wigald Boning, Esther Schweins, Olli Dittrich, Stefan Jürgens, Tanja Schumann, Mirco Nontschew, Sabine Aulmann, Tommy Krappweis and Marc Weigel. The house band were the RTL Samstag Nacht Allstars. Regular musical performances also came from Die Doofen (Boning and Dittrich) and Die Nonnen (Schumann, Schweins and Jürgens). The show spawned a number of CD releases, combining previously broadcasted material and original content.
