Parsifal

Label & distribution company, created in 1974, to make recordings of artists represented by Theaterburo Merlijn (4). Merlijn was founded in 1968 by Gilda Behaeghel and Nico A. Mertens. Merlijn started as the home for several local singer songwriters and folkartists. Until this day, the agency has been working with mostly local Belgian artists. In 1984, the blues and R&B sublabel Blue Sting was created. At this moment Parsifal still represents very strong blues and R&B labels such as Blue Sting, Blue Loon, Double Trouble, Earwig, and others. Although blues is Parsifal's main business, it has diversified into other, more commercial, genres. In the nineties the pop / rock sublabel Halu was launched to release exciting material from Belgian and also American origin. In addition to the program of releases, Parsifal Distribution operates as the label's own distribution system in Belgium and the Netherlands for many imported labels.
