Isiphon-Concert-Record

"Isiphon Concert Record GmbH from Leipzig is one of the oldest record companies in Germany. Only own recordings were used, some of them also on the "sister company" Electrocord (2) and sound miracles appeared. "I.S.I" means "International Record Industry" and its history began in Leipzig in 1910. From around 1920 the well-known "Isiphon Concert Record" label was used (first black, then red). With the introduction of the electrical recording process (end of 1926), it was switched to Electrocord and in 1928 to Cordy. The sad peculiarity of this brand: a large number of the order numbers have been used several times. In other words, if certain older records were taken out of sale, the order numbers that had become free were then given other (new) recordings in the next catalog. Thus a rather confusing number chaos has arisen. The brands Daheim-Record, Hallo-Record and Klang-Wunder also belonged to Isiphon. Production was stopped at the end of the twenties."
