Cinram GmbH
Настоящее имя: Cinram GmbH
German CD/DVD/Blu-ray manufacturing company located in Alsdorf, near Aachen, Germany. The pressing plant has a long tradition and was founded as vinyl manufacturer Record Service GmbH in 1975. The predecessor was Warner Music Manufacturing Europe (manufacturing plant: WMME Alsdorf), which was sold by AOL Time Warner in July 2003 to the Canadian company Cinram. The renaming of WMME to Cinram was effective 01 November 2003 and registered on 24 November 2003.
Due to insolvency the production of CDs, DVD and Blu-rays stopped 31 July 2017.
Since November 1, 2017, the company Avos from Bielefeld has taken over part of the production and personel and Cinram continues under the name of Avos Logistics GmbH. The rescued part is the printing (Werk 3), the logistic section and bigger parts of the packaging section (Werk 5 & 6). The pressing equipment (Werk 1 & 4) was sold at an online auction on November7/8, 2017.
CD Matrix patterns:
1. A letter and two numbers after the 9+1(.# or /#) MM/YY matrix string: e.g. 812272256-2 12/03 V01 (late 2003 to late 2004, This Is Not A Test!, Afrodisiac).
Releases that have a glass mastering month of 12/03 onwards can be credited to Cinram GmbH, as the WMME to Cinram transition had already been completed.
2. A 'CD' before the 9+1(.# or /#) V01 matrix string, e.g. CD 256468068-3 V01 (late 2004 to early 2007, Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, Wincing The Night Away, Cowboys From Hell).
3. Three letters after the 9+1(.# or /#) V01 matrix string, e.g. 256468068-3 V01 DTD (early 2007 to closure in 2017, Luvanmusiq, Emperor Of Sand).
Note 1:
For CDs with 10/03 or 11/03 month in the matrix refer to the artwork: credit WMME where 'Made in Germany by Warner Music Manufacturing Europe' is printed; credit Cinram GmbH when 'Made in the EU' or 'Manufactured in the EU' appears. If in doubt, please open a thread in the forums.
Note 2:
Be aware that the V01-style codes with a letter and two numbers after the matrix string are not exclusive to Cinram GmbH but were already introduced by WMME in late 2002. Please don't credit Cinram GmbH only based on the V01 codes.
