Unusually for a sub-label, the catolouge numbers for the label continued in accordance to Telstar's main series. The label was launched at a time when compilation marketing was becoming fiercer, with labels such as Virgin becoming major competitors. As the name suggests, Telstar TV compilations were commercially advertised.
