Hot Record Society
Настоящее имя: Hot Record Society
U.S. record label active from 1937 to 1940. In 1945 succeeded by H. R. S..
Originally produced a series of pressings by the American Record Corporation of out-of-print jazz classics for the Hot Record Society, a group of traditional jazz enthusiasts. Later Hot Record Society releases include some original recordings and reissues of American Record Corporation and Brunswick Record Corporation material.
The earliest, ARC-produced issues have white labels (1937), then switch to yellow labels (until March 1939). Both show the 303 Fifth Avenue address. Later issues, produced after Columbia Broadcasting System purchased American Record Corporation, feature a red and white label with script logo and are released by the Hot Record Society, later by the H.R.S. Record Shop, both at 827 Seventh Avenue in New York City.
Prior to introduction of conventional catalog numbers, releases were using a "Month Year" pattern as catalog number.
