Jazz Record

U.S. record label (1944-1948). Produced by American Jazz, Inc., a company owned and operated by pianist Art Hodes, who also edited Jazz Record magazine from 1943-1947. Records were distributed by Black & White. The label's final recording session was on March 27, 1947, and the last releases were listed by Billboard in January 1948. Following the demise of the Jazz Record label, American Jazz masters were acquired by Lissen Records Inc. and Circle Records (10).
