Philly World Records

Early 80s Dance Label based in Philadelphia. Found by Peter Pelullo in 1982 as a subsidiary of Alpha International Studios, to establish domestic and international record distribution networks. Absorbed in 1986 into Alpha, which was retained in order to focus on studio operations and the formation of a new record company. Philly World is also known as The World of Philadelphia. NOTE: A very few releases were distributed by Atlantic in USA, Quality Records Ltd. in Canada & PRT Records in UK.
