Also appears as "Dial" only. Dial Records was a US based label/record company specializing in bebop jazz, and, subsequently, modern classical music. Dial was founded by Ross Russell in 1946 in Hollywood, relocating its offices to New York City in the summer of 1947. Notable artists who recorded for Dial included Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Max Roach, and Milt Jackson. Russell stopped recording jazz in 1948, and began concentrating on 20th-century classical music. The label existed until 1954.
