Kinney Filipacchi Music
Настоящее имя: Kinney Filipacchi Music
French record company, distributor and manufacturer, operating under this name between July 1971 and mid-1972. Succeeded by WEA Filipacchi Music.
Kinney Filipacchi Music handled a.o. the labels Warner Bros. Records, Atco Records, Reprise Records, Elektra and Atlantic in France. Initially the company relied on imports, backed up by local production from master tapes. However in late 1971 it started importing matrices directly from the US in order to improve pressing quality. Such releases can be recognized by "KFM" or "K.F.M." etched in the runouts, often alongside identifiers from the US lacquer cutting and plating facilities. Kinney Filipacchi Music did not operate its own pressing plant, so please credit with "Manufactured By". Actual pressing was done by local pressing plants such as Société De Pressage De Disques, Disco France and MPO. After the renaming of the company the etching was gradually discontinued, even if it did appear on WEA releases well into 1973.
