Daio Kosan Co. Ltd.

Daio Kosan opened in Spring 1985. It was an affiliate of Daio Paper, a conglomerate of paper, printing, materials, etc. It had small capacity. WEA US used them as second/third level supplier until their own plant got ramped up in 1987. Some smaller labels also used them at the time. They seemed to be in a group of CD pressing companies in the three major markets (Europe, US, Japan) that started up after the boom in demand began, but didn't have a heavy affiliation (i.e. owned by or a joint venture of record label) or long term supply agreements with major or indie labels and found it tough to keep going. In 1986 WEA start pressing discs in Europe and in US. A small CD producers in Japan have to out of the business or change their direction/profile. Daio Kosan plant was located on 5th Floor, Tamura Bldg. 7-12, 2 Chome Nachobori, Chuo-Ku, Tokyo. They stop pressed discs in late '87 and became a full time paper company.
