UR-Realist
Настоящее имя: UR-Realist
An underground independent label UR-Realist (Ур-Реалист) was founded in 1999 by Misha Verbitsky. The central concept of the label is based on the rejection of the Modern World and its values, profound hatred of the bread-and-circuses society, liberalism, Western world, deceitful and hypocritical consumerist mindset of the Modern Man. Instead, Soviet imperial aesthetics are praised, from communist utopias of Arkady and Boris Strugatsky to Osip Mandelstam's Ode To Stalin, the suicidal images of Grazhdanskaya Oborona and Instructions For Survival, ethnogenesis theories of L. N. Gumilyov and sophisticated culturological writings of Aleksandr Dugin. Musical inspirations of UR-Realist include Psychic TV and World Serpent Distribution, Clan of Xymox, The Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the Nephilim, early Throbbing Gristle, SPK, and Russian artists who represent the same ideas and approaches: Sergey Zharikov (ДК), Sergey Kuryokhin, Egor Letov, Roman Neumoev, Банда Четырех, Кооператив Ништяк, Рада & Терновник, etc. The label released over 40 albums on CD.
