The German Constrictor label was founded 1986 by Phillip Boa and Pia Lund. Besides records of their own band Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub they released many records of different other bands like The Membranes, The Palookas, Television Personalities, Christian Hound, Inca Babies, Jowe Head, The Legend!, The Creepers ... Good contacts were developed to different UK-labels like Dreamworld, Hollow Planet, In Tape, Red Flame. In close cooperation Dirk Rudolph became the important designer of Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub records and the band-logo "Teufelsharfe".
In 1991 Constrictor was transferred from Phillip Boa to Matthias Gülicher. The label was renamed as Historia and published German bands like Brosch and Speed Niggs. Historia existed only for 8 months ... Around 2009 the label Constrictor was rebooted for new digital and physical releases by Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub. Constrictor acts also as a publisher with it's subsidiaries Constrictor Musikverlag (sometimes noted as Constrictor Publishing) and Film Noir.
