Belle Vue Gardens (Also known as Belle Vue Zoological Gardens or simply Belle Vue) was an amusement park, zoo, exhibition hall complex and speedway stadium opened in 1836. The gardens are located in Gorton, Manchester, England and was initially intended to offer entertainment for the middle class.
The garden's also inlcuded The King's Hall (opened 1910) which hosted concerts for artists and bands, including Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Leonard Cohen and Johnny Cash. The last event held at The Kings Hall was in February 1982 - and the hall was later demolished and redeveloped to make way for a large car auction house.
In 1982 the land had been sold, and by 1987 the site cleared - all that remains of the original gardens is a greyhound racing stadium and a snooker hall.
