Short-lived imprint launched in 1996 by Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs of Saint Etienne with then EMI United Kingdom Director of A&R Tristram Penna. First signings were Kenickie, pursued after a recommendation by soon-to-be-labelmate Lawrence (5) of Denim. (Label code: LC 01331) • Do not confuse with Emidisc (2) - EMI budget brand active in the '70s; • Do not confuse with Emidisc (3) acetate pressings which were widely produced through the 60s and 70s by E.M.I. Tape Limited as an industry tool for anyone requiring a small test-vinyl run (a precursor to CD-R).
