Summit (7)

Independent distribution company founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1960, later moved to Skokie, Illinois. Owned by Seymour Greenspan and Jack White. Charles Deke Atkins handled R&B promotions for the firm. For a short time, 1968-71, Summit had an R&B/Soul label of it's own, Duo Records (2). Distributed the soul labels Aries, Aquarius (4), Giant Records (3), Kelton, Songee, Tories, and Zodiac Records, among others. See also longer forms Summit Distributors or Summit Dist., Inc..
