Aeon
Настоящее имя: Aeon
Early-mid 1980s cassette-only label run by Kent Hotchkiss, based in Fort Collins, Colorado. The packaging for the majority of Aeon releases was the work of close associates the Mnemonists on whose album, ‘Some Attributes Of A Living System,’ Kent contributed spoken word.
Aeon also produced a one-off magazine, 'Probes,' devoted to the visual work of Mnemonists. Contributors included Randy Yeates, Torger Hougen, R.Katsimpalis, Ra Tomato, R.Dr. Agon, Tomato Jones, Random Consciousness, Viewpoint and TNT.
With assistance from members of the Mnemonists, Aeon also operated as a distributor of records and tapes by many established avant garde composers as well as many independent experimental, Industrial and Noise artists of the day. Initially a passionate supporter and promoter of experimental musics of all genres, Kent decided to cease operation of the label and distribution after becoming disillusioned with the direction of experimental music in general feeling that there were no longer many genuine pioneers with the majority of artists merely copying what had gone before.
