Pelikan AG

Pelikan AG was established 1978 with the transormation of predecessor Pelikan GmbH into a stock corporation. The company was originally founded by chemist Carl Hornemann 28th of April 1838 as a factory for painter's colours and inks in Hannover, Germany. The first pelican-logo was established in 1863 and the company grew with an extended product range for sustainable office supply. In 1896 Pelikan became market leader for ink. 1929 presented its first fountain pen and 1931 it's first watercolour paintbox. 1960 Pelikan introduced it's fountain pen "Pelikano" developed specially for school children. 1972 the company produced the first ink eradicator. 1982 Pelikan started to produces board games and puzzles. The holding has also it's own book publisher "Pelikan Verlag".
