Turkish E.M.I. record company, located in Istanbul. Established 1923 (or 1929*) and active until June 1974 (or 1973*), when replaced by a licensing agreement. In the 1960s also handled CBS Records in Turkey. Operated a shellac and vinyl pressing plant since 1936. The plant is often credited as GLS (sometimes misread as CLS) in the runouts. Plant manufactured 78RPM records until 1963. After 1963 plant gave up manufacturing 78RPM records and started to manufacture 7"s and LPs until its closure in 1973. In 1971 the plant reached to manufacturing capacity of 1 million per year. *Sources differ.
