French label and distributor. Issued 7"s ca.1966-69, then compilations of mostly French singers big hits on LPs and cassettes from ca. 1971-1972 to 1985. Those compilations were sold at budget price and material had been originally issued on labels of Phonogram / Polygram group: Philips, Polydor, Fontana, Mercury, ... Impact (2) released many different LP versions of most compilations. Impact LPs with cat# 6886 ### and 6371 ### 1 / 6371 ### 2 on labels are reissues of releases originally issued with cat# 6371 ###. Yellow labels with red stroboscope rim came first and were replaced by red labels with silver stroboscope rim late 1976 or early 1977. Earlier Impact LPs have 'Mono/Stereo' at top left of front cover and that was replaced by 'Gravure Universelle' in 1977. Releases with multicolored vertical strips above 'Gravure Universelle' at top left of front cover were issued from 1980 to 1983. Enregistrements Originaux branding appears in 1976, earlier versions have not that branding. Impact LPs with circled Le Disque D'Or (3) branding were issued ca. 1977-1979 Impact LPs with rectangular Disque D'or (4) branding were issued ca. 1979-1982 Impact LPs with Disque De Platine branding have all a Boulevard Ney address. Notes: 1) IM ## codes on releases distributed by Impact are price codes, NOT catalogue numbers, and should not be entered in the catalog# field 2) Dates on BNF database are often not reliable for release date especially for 70s LPs. There are contradictions with undisputable price code dates or other data. Likely because Impact notified lately BNF about those compilations (of musical material yet protected by original legal deposit).
