Capitol Melrose Studio

Capitol Records opened its first recording studio on January 10, 1949 at 5515 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, formerly the home of NBC Radio in Los Angeles. This facility also included mastering studios and lathes for lacquer cutting. After the opening of new studios in the Capitol Tower at Hollywood and Vine in 1956, these studios were sold and became the home of KHJ-AM / FM / TV. The building is now a part of the Paramount Pictures Studios complex.
