Danish Institute for Electronic Music (DIEM)
Настоящее имя: Danish Institute for Electronic Music (DIEM)
DIEM is Denmark's national center of electronic music, founded 1986 by Statens Musikråd (The Danish Music Council) under the Ministry of Culture to support production, teaching, research and presentation in the field of electronic music. At the time of opening in 1987 DIEM was an independent, non-profit organization that consisted of two music studios, each 60 m2, situated in the Musikhuset Aarhus (Aarhus Concert Hall).
Still located in the Musikhuset Aarhus, in 2003 DIEM was incorporated as a part of Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium (Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus), but had to move out of the facilities in Musikhuset Aarhus in March 2006 to make way for a new addition to Musikhuset. In August 2007 all parts of Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium, Aarhus (including DIEM) were united at new facilities built adjacent to the existing Musikhuset Aarhus.
Name variations: DIEM was founded as "Dansk Institut for Elektroakkustisk Musik" (Danish Institute for Electroacoustic Music) and renamed "Dansk Institut for Elektronisk Musik" (Danish Institute for Electronic Music) in 2003.
