The Academy of Music is an American concert hall and opera house, established in 1857 and located at 240 S. Broad Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is the oldest opera house in the United States still used for an original purpose. The venue belongs to The Philadelphia Orchestra, which occupied it for over a century since the inception in 1900 until the orchestra moved to the new Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in 2001. Currently, the Academy of Music is the home of Pennsylvania Ballet and Opera Philadelphia.
