German record company owning the labels Homophon Company, Homokord, Homocord.
Established in February 1905 in Berlin by Hermann Eisner, Carl Gronau and Max Brandt.
In 1906 the company expanded to Great Britain under the management of the merchant company Bernhard Andres & Co., and in 1908 established the Homophone Disc Record Co., later becoming The British Homophone Co. Ltd. The British Homophon label was discontinued in 1914, and was restarted as Homochord in October 1922 with many old Homophone masters reissued on the new label between 1922 & 1925.
In May 1907 the company expanded to France and established Cie Française De L'Homophone.
In 1932 the company was taken over by the Carl Lindström A.-G.
Some labels show the name as Homophone.
