Didgeridoo originated in 1980 as a record shop in Darlinghurst, Sydney, Australia and eighteen months later, Hot Records (2) started from the back of the shop.
During the mid-1990s Hot established a second office in Sussex, United Kingdom, so Didgeridoo began appearing on some releases as the the Australian distribution arm of Hot Records (2) (both entities now defunct). As early as 1996 / 1998 Didgeridoo also started being branded on releases as an Australian record label in its own right. The parent company Didgeridoo Records Pty Ltd was deregistered 20/11/2016.
