Sony Music came into czech market in 1990, when Sony franchised company Bonton Music a.s.. First CD was Rolling Stones-Steel Wheels. Own company Sony Music CR arised in 1991. In 1998 was born cooperation between Sony Music and Bonton Music with official name Sony Music / Bonton s.r.o.. In May 2003. Sony Music bought whole part of Bonton and strarted business in The Czech rebublic and The Slovakia under the label Sony Music Entertainment (Czech Republic) s.r.o.. Sony BMG Music Entertainment is the result of a 50/50 joint venture between Sony Music Entertainment and Bertelsmann Music Group (part of Bertelsmann), which was completed on August 5, 2004 In August 2008, Sony announced they acquired Bertelsmann's 50% stake in the company became Sony Music Entertainment Czech Republic s.r.o. in 2009.
