Sonic Wave International (abbreviated as Sonic Wave Intl.) was a record label founded by Anand Bhatt in the late 1990's, based in Oak Park, Illinois, USA. The company released metal, electronic and hip-hop artists and was financed by Candlelight Productions in Singapore and Abyss Records in the USA. Early distribution was handled by Alliance Entertainment Corporation. The company later claimed offices all over the world including in Singapore, France, Germany and Australia but in reality they were only distribution deals. Today, the company is perhaps best remembered for it's brief collaboration with Faith No More guitarist Jim Martin, when it released the soundtrack to a porno flick titled "Conflict", a collaboration effort between Jim Martin and Anand Bhatt. The majority of releases by Sonic Wave International were of bands and projects featuring Anand Bhatt, including Anand Clique and Metal Militia. Sonic Wave International releases were also known for sub-par quality artwork and printing, often with the graphics blurry and badly aligned, causing the text to be cut off from the album sleeves or to end up on the wrong side of a fold. The label was also criticized for fraud, laundering of funds provided by artists and distributors, used only for Anand Bhatt's personal bands. The label has also been sued several times for distributing digital versions of releases without permission from the bands. Sonic Wave International was considered the primary company, while subsidiaries were created and named according to where the release would be distributed and where a band was from; Sonic Wave America (SWA), Sonic Wave Singapore (SWS), Sonic Wave Australia (SWAUST), Sonic Wave France (SWF) and Sonic Wave Malaysia (SWM). Usually the catalog numbering system would indicate which imprint the release was associated with.
