The Magic Band House
Настоящее имя: The Magic Band House
The house, located at 4295 Ensenada Drive, Woodland Hills, CA 91364 was the residence and rehearsal studio for members of the Magic Band during the year leading up to the release of [m14817].
Large portions of the work on the album were field recordings made at the house onto a Uher tape machine by members of the band. Engineer Dick Kunc also used a Shure eight-channel mixer remounted in a briefcase for some of the work. He would record a 'live gig' with earphones on and adjust the levels, with the outputs of the briefcase mixer feeding a Uher portable tape recorder. Some of the more 'raw work' can be found on Grow Fins: Rarities (1965-1982) (or the individual vinyl from this titled set).
The period in which the band occupied the property has become stuff of legend and the house features strongly in many books & reviews of the band's work.
