Charlotte-based country music legend Arthur Smith (2) first opened this studio as Arthur Smith Studios on Monroe Road back in 1964. This historic music facility was the first in the region to use a multi-track recorder. Over the years, artists have used this “World Class Recording Studio” for their projects. Staff producer and recording engineer Tim Eaton (4) acquired the studio in 1985, and renamed it as StudioEast. (Unfortunately, this location is no longer a recording studio, possibly closed in 2016, and has been converted to law office space).
