W & G Studios

The recording studios of W & G Records, located in West Melbourne, Australia. The disc-cutting room and recording studio were built by Bill Armstrong (6) (later to establish Armstrong Studios) in 1957. There also were custom recording facilities (W & G Custom Recordings). Apparently later became Flagstaff Studios. The 185 A'beckett St building was constructed specifically for White & Gillespie (Melb) Pty Ltd in 1938 It was typically Art Deco in design and initially W & G may have only occupied the upper floor.
