Petit Mal Music

Petit Mal Music is a small independent label based in the San Francisco Bay Area focused primarily around a group of musicians and sound artists best described as Miserablists - characterized by a sense of longing and beauty drowning in a sea of despair and desperation. The usual format of release is the niche market 3" CD, though full-length discs have and will again be issued in the future, as well as vinyl and cassette. The label is curated and run by James Kaiser, who as far back as 1995 had recorded under the moniker Petit Mal, but now uses his birth name while the former moniker has been transferred to represent the 3" CD label. The name Petit Mal being the proper identification for the label's releases, small and evil.
