Sessions, Live
Настоящее имя: Sessions, Live
The 36 LPs in this series were originally made for a television series called "Stars of Jazz" which was recorded and broadcast between 1956 and 1958. It was announced by the program's producer Jimmie Baker that Pacific Jazz would be issuing them as "Bobby Troup's Stars of Jazz Series." Unanticipated contractual difficulties kept the label from issuing any recordings.
The complete Library of Congress entry on the TV series is here:

listing in many cases complete personnel.
There were 130 programs in all. A total of 64 master tapes were loaned to a private individual to facilitate production of the albums. These tapes were sold to Golden Record Marketing with the agreement that all necessary clearances had been obtained by the individual from the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and that Golden Record Marketing would be held harmless should there be any legal challenge. Golden Record Marketing began releasing this series as Sessions, Live in 1978 with no mention of Stars of Jazz or listing complete personnel for each track (see the information on the Library of Congress entry above).
Billboard magazine noted in an aritcle published on November 10, 1979 that Terry Gibbs was suing all of the principals involved in the making of these LPs, as he had not given permission for his performances on CAL 3010 and CAL 3020 to be released, nor had he been compensated. Count Basie joined the lawsuit. No further LPs were issued after CAL 3036 and production was halted.
