Seaview Ballroom
Настоящее имя: Seaview Ballroom
A now defunct venue, prominent in Melbourne's live alternative rock/punk music history of the late 1970s and 1980s. Part of the George Hotel complex (renamed in 1976 to the 'Seaview', now known as The George again), the distinctive, predominant corner piece of the hotel, the 'Boom style Italianate' architecture, was built in 1886. The Seaview Ballroom (also known as the Crystal Ballroom), was part of the rear wing of the hotel, formerly the dining room, and was also built at this time. De-licenced and closed in 1987 for being an important drug dealing venue, the hotel was redeveloped in 1995/1996 as apartments, and the ballroom becoming a function room.
