Laurie Records
Настоящее имя: Laurie Records
Also appears as "Laurie" only.
American record label founded in 1958 by brothers Robert Schwartz and Gene Schwartz, and Allan I. Sussel, the founder of Philadelphia's Jamie Records. In the early '60s, arranger Eliot Greenberg became a minority partner.
For Bootlegs and unofficial releases see Laurie Records (2).
The most successful artists on Laurie were Dion & The Belmonts, The Chiffons, and The Royal Guardsmen. Laurie was also the US label for British pop stars Gerry & The Pacemakers.
The label also distributed records under several subsidiary labels, including Rust Records, Legrand Records and others. They are not affiliated with mail-order firm Laurie House, which was owned by Providence Records.
Laurie's name was changed in the early '80s to 3C Records; its masters are now owned by the Capitol Records unit of Universal Music Group.
