Cesta Records Inc.
Настоящее имя: Cesta Records Inc.
Joe Quijano is the proprietor the recording company, Cesta Records which he formed in the 1960s. Joe was born on September 27, 1935, at Puerta de Tierra, Puerto Rico, his family relocating to New York City in 1941. Over the years he has contributed greatly to the development of Latin music in New York City.
Cesta refers to the jai-alai (pronounced as "high ally") cesta, a hand-held device required to handle and accelerate the "pilota" (ball). Note that the Cesta logos have the jai-alai cesta with the ball, because his owner (Quijano) liked to practice this sport (See photos in "Joe Quijano in Puerto Rico" album jacket—Cesta CE-11+). But the first two Cesta albums, CE-1000 and CE-2000, had no logos, but the word Cesta in script.
