EDC, Germany
Настоящее имя: EDC, Germany
Entertainment Distribution Company GmbH was a German manufacturer of CD, DVD, Blu-ray and vinyl records established in May 2005 following the acquisition of the manufacturing and distribution facilities of the Universal Music Group. The predecessor for this plant was Universal M & L, Germany. EDC was the largest, fully integrated optical disc manufacturing and distribution site in Europe and commenced pressing vinyl records in late 2015. Seven Toolex Alpha presses had been installed, with a capacity of 15 million records per year. The company became insolvent and its assets were to be auctioned in May and June 2017.
Please enter all pressings here that show "Made in Germany by EDC" (on releases since approx. 2009 in capital letters) and additional letters ranging from A to ZZ on the opposite side of the sentence in the inner CD ring. Also be aware that since sometime in the 2010s, the "MADE IN GERMANY BY EDC" text may no longer be present, but all other matrix elements including the A-ZZ letter can still be used to identify this manufacturer.
Please be aware that the EDC factory produced CD and CDr media (often for brokers who are sometimes credited in the mirror band or clamping ring) but used their usual CD matrix scheme and SID code pairings.
When entering EDC, Germany in the LCCN section of a release page, add the sequential number "5xxxxxxxx", which comes after the "[°]" element in the matrix, as the LCCN number.
Please use "Made By" role when that text is present in matrix/inner ring (example release: The Fame).

Mastering SID codes and corresponding mid-matrix digit:
[°] = ✳ - IFPI LV26
[°] = + - IFPI LV27 (likely since 2008)
[°] = / - IFPI L001 (only a short time in 2005?)
[°] = # - IFPI L008 (2007-2008) and IFPI LZ87 (2012-2016?)*

*glass masters produced by other manufacturers (P=P+O Pallas, E=OpticalDisc.RO, C=Cinram GmbH)
Note: Please do not credit these manufacturers in LCCN when above SID codes appear in conjunction with EDC, Germany matrix patterns.
Mould SID codes pattern:
IFPI 01XX
DVDs manufactured by EDC, Germany can be identified by 6 Universal logos in inner or outer ring and have almost the same matrix pattern as CDs, only with additional number 50 or 51 before 0X. Sometimes two different 5xxxxxxx numbers are present in inner and outer rings, both of which can be entered in LCCN. Please DO NOT enter # 50994213 which appears in inner ring of some DVDs on label side.
LCCN roles without EDC Germany text:
"Pressed By" can be used for all discs with matrix numbers >5164xxxx and mould code IFPI 01** (example Nightingales & Bombers).
"Glass Mastered At" may only be used for discs with above matrix numbers and mastering codes IFPI LV26, LV27 and L008 (example Waves).
If the matrix patterns DO NOT appear on a release which mentions EDC in matrix, but show a different styled one, check if it's manufactured by either
