Star Song

Christian record label that was started in 1976 by Darrell A. Harris. Star Song had a distribution deal in place with Tempo, Inc. (2), but Tempo, Inc. went bust. After a four-month hiatus distribution was taken over by The Benson Company for short while, until Star Song brokered a deal with Word, Inc. in 1983 that was to last until 1986/7. Sparrow Records and Star Song joined forced and founded Sparrow/Star Song Distribution that handled distribution from 1987 to 1990. Star Song's parent company Jubilee Communications, Inc. was purchased by EMI Music in 1994. In 1998 all Star Song artists were transferred to Sparrow and the Star Song label would only be used for reprints and special issues.
