Crown (5)
Настоящее имя: Crown (5)
U.S. record label (1930-1933). For UK releases see Crown Records (5).
Recorded by the Crown Record Company of New York, these discs were pressed by RCA Victor Company, Inc. Eli Oberstein managed production of Crown and its subsidiary Gem (12) and Homestead (2) labels. Crown had an informal relationship with The New York Recording Laboratories, and although most Crown releases drew on their own masters, several were made from Paramount masters. Likewise, some Crown masters were issued on The New York Recording Laboratories' Broadway (9) label. Crown introduced fine-groove, long-playing records shortly before going out of business in Fall, 1933. Much Crown material was retained by Eli Oberstein, who later dubbed it onto releases in his Varsity, The Hit Record and other labels in the late 1930s-early 1940s.
