Continental Record Co., Inc.
Настоящее имя: Continental Record Co., Inc.
U.S. record company (ca. 1941-1950; reactivated in the early 60s) founded by Hungarian emigrant Don Gabor in 1941. Gabor specialized in records for ethnic markets, but also assembled an impressive jazz catalog and classical offerings. Early releases were pressed by Scranton Record Company (1941-46), but after Capitol Records, Inc. took control of this pressing plant in 1946 Gabor purchased Webster Manufacturing Co., a recently vacated textile mill in Webster, Massachusetts and converted it to his own pressing plant. Webster Record Corp. also offered custom pressing services. In 1948, Gabor opened another pressing plant in Montreal, Canada and began issuing Continental material under the Maple Leaf label.
