Also appears as "Liberty UA, Inc.", Liberty/UA. Inc.", Liberty/United Artists, Inc., "Liberty UA Inc." on Blue Note releases. US Record company established after Transamerica Corporation's acquisition of Liberty Records Inc. in 1968. It existed from 1968 to 1972 and was succeeded by a new incarnation of United Artists Records, Inc. Do not confuse with Liberty/United Records, Inc., without the word "'Artists", a different company created after the sale of United Artists Music And Record Group to Capitol Records, Inc. in 1979.
