Crystal Schallplatten GmbH
Настоящее имя: Crystal Schallplatten GmbH
German record company, founded in August 1976 as the successor Music For Pleasure GmbH.
As a fully independent sister company of EMI Electrola GmbH, it operated in-house label Crystal (5) and distributed other labels like Magnet (2) or Emidisc (2) in Germany, Austria & Switzerland.
Naturally, cutting and pressing was usually carried out by EMI Electrola GmbH, printing by 4P Nicolaus GmbH.
In 1979 the company launched a series of reissues with Jazz recordings taken over from the MPS Records and Saba catalogue, Crystal Jazz.
By 1980 Crystal Schallplatten GmbH was liquidated and company activities/copyrights were transferred back to EMI Electrola GmbH. Some successful releases were re-integrated into the EMI or Emidisc (2)-repertoire after the liquidation.
Please note that the company credit, the Crystal (5) label logo and the typical 3-letter codes in the catalogue number (CRY, EMD, EVC) may occasionally appear as a layout legacy on the cover of pressings manufactured and delivered until the mid-1980s.
