Klauhütte Bangzeit 200 - also known as KB Zed or shortened as KBZ - is the alias used for 1991 Gordon Monahan's "Exotic Trilogy" project and his by-product on record. "Vexations (1893) by Erik Satie was an extremely avant garde work when it was composed. The concept of "furniture music" was co-opted by the Muzak Corporation and used as background shopping music. The KB Zed takes 3 songs often heard as shopping music and uses them to create this ersatz exotic tableau that returns the music to its primitive state, causing delirious frenzy amongst listeners subjected to a full 18 hour listening."
