Discophon, S.A.

Spanish record company behind the Discophon label, manufacturing and distributing from the 60s-70s for its artists and also providing contract facilities for other label brands in the Spanish-speaking market, such as CBS and Epic. (Note: For contract releases in Spain it is the manufacturer / distributor, as on release, not the record company) Although Discophon S.A. was a small independent company it had its own pressing plant. Before CBS had established its facilities in Spain, their issues were released in the Spanish market by Discophon S.A. under license from CBS in France. Thus, early Discophon S.A. manufactured releases for CBS may have a BIEM rights imprint (or DR?), instead of the Spanish rights organization SGAE.
