Edinburgh Festival Fringe
Настоящее имя: Edinburgh Festival Fringe
The oldest and largest arts festival in the world, held annually in Edinburgh and dating back to 1947. It is also known as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Whilst the festival has a wide range of artistic performances, there has always been some sort of music present; whether it be oriental dancing from a far-eastern dance troupe and accompanying musicians, or just locals performing some traditional jigs and reels.
However, in more recent times, a cappella has been a big staple of the music scheduling, and in more recent times still, there has been a huge surge in the number of tribute acts and biographical shows, telling the stories of some of the world's most popular performers, in a musical format. This type of show has been in such a huge demand, that many of the shows are sold-out, year after year. Most of these acts record their performances, package them, and then sell them as merchandise which has led to an increasing number of these albums appearing on the market.
