Bakersfield International Records was a record label strongly influenced by country and western's "Bakersfield Sound." Founded in Bakersfield, California by guitarist, singer, Grammy and Dove award-winning songwriter and producer Gary Sanford Paxton (a.k.a. Gary S. Paxton, Gary Paxton). The label is known to have been in existence by July, 1967 when it signed Clarence White (The Kentucky Colonels, The Byrds).
