Operated a.o. the labels Kristall (2) and Imperial (between 1933 - 1934, see Imperial (3), and between 1936 and 1937, see Imperial (10)).
Outside Germany it operated the labels Cristallo and Kristal (2).
After World War 2, the company owned the rights of the revived Electrola label Gloria (2) (the original pre-war label Gloria was owned by Carl Lindström AG).
This company is not related to Crystal Schallplatten GmbH (apart from the same owner, EMI Electrola).
History:
9 December 1933: Kristall-Schallplatten G.m.b.H. is registered in Berlin, after renaming Deutsche Crystalate GmbH.
1 August 1939: The company is acquired by Carl Lindström A.-G. and remains dormant during WW II.
9 November 1951: The new parent is Carl Lindström GmbH and share capital is raised to 20.000 DM.
5 December 1962: Decision to move the location from Berlin to Cologne.
15 January 1963: Registered in the Cologne corporate register HRB 1608 as "Kristall-Schallplatten Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung" (or, short, Kristall-Schallplatten G.m.b.H.). The Berlin entry HRB 501 was subsequently deleted. Releases from that era often bear "Kristall GmbH" or "Kristall Gesellschaft m.b.H., Köln".
30 November 1972: The new parent is EMI Electrola GmbH (as part of the merger of the Carl Lindström Gmbh and the Electrola GmbH).
6 July 1976: "Kristall-Schallplatten Gesellschaft mbH" is renamed to "Kristall-Schallplatten-Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH" (an administration company), which is finally merged into the "Thorn EMI Video Programm GmbH" in September 1981.
