Also credited as Electro-Vox Recording Studios Hollywood. Founded by Warner Brothers Pictures / Vitaphone sound engineer Bert Gottschalk in 1931 and later operated by his son, recording engineer Alan Gottschalk. in addition to providing recording studio services, the studio transcribed “air checks” from the NBC and CBS Radio Networks for West-Coast rebroadcast from 1936 to 1950. A custom label, Electro-Vox, was offered to clients during the 1950s. In 2000, Gottschalk retired and the studio was purchased by Joey Altruda, and then by Woody Jackson in 2009. Jackson renamed the studio Vox Recording Studios, but the name was quickly changed back.
