Capitol Sings

In the 1990s, Capitol released a series of Compilation albums from their pre-rock & roll vaults. Using the common title "Capitol Sings", these releases showcase the works of noteworthy American songwriters from the 1940s, '50s and '60s. The Series is mostly Composer-driven, but also includes Award-winning songs and various themes from the same time period. This includes music written by Johnny Mercer, Hoagy Carmichael, Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen, and more, and sung by the top vocalists from the Capitol stable such as Nat King Cole, Judy Garland, Peggy Lee, Dean Martin, Margaret Whiting, and many others.
